G3 Conference 2019 Notes and Thoughts Post #2
I don't think I need to say anything besides these statements from Mr. Washer. That was an extremely powerful message! (Forgive the formatting. I fought it tooth and nail, but the third point didn't want to align. :) )

Paul Washer-
The more you trust in the arm of
the flesh, the less you will see of the power of Almighty God.
I. Sola Scriptura
A. 2 Timothy 3:16 (All scripture is sufficient).
B. Is my life, my practice, my personal life, my
evangelism…is it all being done according to the scriptures?
C. 1 Timothy 3:13
D. How can you know that you are conducting
yourself rightly in the house of God?
E. We have to follow the pattern for the economy of
God PRECISELY!
F. The men of the church strip the church of her "white linens" and paint her face and dress her up as a prostitute in order to
parade her in front of carnal men in order to draw them back into the church.
**Missions is the leaders of one
biblical church sending out other leaders to plant more biblical churches.
G. What part of everything
you are should be “exported” and what part of you should be quarantined?
H. The doctrine of what we
believe determines the state of our eternity!
I. What do you do every
day in order to discipline yourself to godliness?
J. Give me a holy man any
day than an academic man without holiness!
II. The doctrine of the local
church.
A. Have
you studied the teaching and types of prayer meetings that SHOULD BE in a local
church? If you have not done this, then PLEASE DO NOT GO
TO THE MISSION FIELD!
B. The
Great Commission is primarily a doctrinal, scriptural, and didactic endeavor to
reach people with the gospel. It is more than just preaching and teaching.
C. There
will be countless missionaries who disagree with these concepts.
D. You
cannot build all of your church unity around missions. You can’t do that! You
have to build around the TRUTH and then you go out and do missions!
E. If
only ALL of the Bible believing Christians would take a stand, then the rest of
the world will wake up and listen!
F. Giving
too much attention to the Gospel in church will put a damper on the programs of
the church.
G. We
need men who won’t just talk about the truth but say that they will live it,
talk about it, and have churches who SPEAK it!
H. 2
Corinthians 8
I. 2 Timothy 2:2
1.
Elder qualified men, spiritual men, praying for
and investing their lives into other men who are aspiring to the office of
overseer. Pouring their lives into those people so that they will become user
qualified and go forth into ministry.
2.
Pastors are the highest office. The most
important position.
3.
Pastoring is more than expository preaching.
a.
Visiting hospitals
b.
Discipling
c.
Making Phone calls
d.
But most importantly, the training of men.
III. What is a missionary?
III. What is a missionary?
A.
The word missionary isn’t in the Bible.
B.
A lot depends on how we define missionary.
C.
Never in the history of the church have there
have been such widely divergent views and radical strategies. The confusion
proves that we are guilty of doing what is right in our own eyes.
1.IF there is one thing that God’s people are prone to
do, “and everyone did what was right in their own eyes.”
2.“Man will invent.”
D. Every time you call
someone a missionary, you are calling them an apostle.
1. “Missionarios”
came from the term “Apostolos”.
E. Jesus was God’s
Apostle (defined as missionary: modern term.)
F. The term apostle is
also used in the new testament who were sent out by the churches as official
representatives, emissaries, and laborers for edification by the churches on
the mission field.
1. They were sent
out as “messengers”
2. Sent out under
direct authority of a local church or collection of churches to carry out a
specific task or message.
**Should we use the term missionary?
We should use messengers.
Messengers of the churches. Emissaries of the churches.
Our use of the term missions
destroys the meaning of a messenger’s goal.
Don’t just say that you want to
go to the mission field because “you just want to do something”! We need those
who KNOW the WORD OF GOD!
Preach it, girl! I love hearing Paul Washer speak...thank you so much for sharing! <3
