New Year's Resolutions 2018

A lot has happened this year that I can't believe that the end of 2017 has come and gone and the year of 2018 has arrived with all of its new challenges. Usually I compile a gigantic list of resolutions for my year and I never complete half of them, but many were unrealistic.....no sugar for six months kind of resolutions...so you see that was virtually impossible. ;)

These are a few I jotted down last night that I had been thinking about over the course of the day. I am not going to elaborate too much, but I want to explain a few of them.

Early fall my parents began the process of fostering, and we just completed the very long and tedious process as a family and are waiting now on any calls that might come in. I want to be able to share the closeness of our family with children in this area who have come from difficult situations and don't know the kind of childhood I grew up with.

I am currently learning to be in a season of stillness or quiet....but mostly peace. Learning to not be discontent with where I am in my life right now has been a challenge. I have explored various things and ways of spending my time, and I've discovered that some of my favorite things involve sharing what I do with others and then going off in a quiet place to just enjoy nature and see God through it. Those things inspire me to write, enjoy family, and express my love of playing the piano and singing with my siblings. Don't get me wrong, life isn't always as perfect as this, but these are the moments that make the hard times worth it.

This is my complete list and a life I am going to live with God's help this year 2018.

*Prayer Life
-- To be more focused
-- Closer family
-- Our family's new experience in fostering/adoption

*Personal Goals
-- Continue consistent exercise
-- Carving out certain things in my diet
-- Expanding the family farm
-- Continue saving money for a car

*Spiritual Goals
-- To be at peace with where I am
-- Always seek guidance (even in the small things)
-- Read through the Bible
-- Keep my life focus on Christ rather than where I can go by myself
