Pumping Ourselves Up

The act of lifting ourselves above others is an expression of pride. God does not tolerate pride because he does not tolerate sin. People who exalt themselves God will abase.

The sin of despising others reveals itself in various ways. When you avoid others for no reason is being terribly unkind. God wants us to treat others kindly. When you show partiality it is an expression of selfishness. You can hurt others by gossiping and slandering. It is not kind to say things about others. We can and should be kind to others.
