"Today is the day!" Shouted Ruby
"A Thanksgiving party takes work." said mother, as she shoved a spoonful of acorn-mush into Ruby's mouth.

And mother mouse meant what she said too! She had a million pies to bake, and more little mice to feed, tables for the men to set up, and she and Sierra had to decorate them of course!

As soon as all that work was done the boys and father mouse came in the front door. Just as they sat down for a cozy Bible study, a knock sounded at the door.

"That would be the Chipmunk family!" announced mother mouse as she quickly rose from her chair.

The mouse family let them in, but the door was not shut for a while yet as more guests came flooding in. Then father mouse had all the guests' children seated on the floor for "The Very First Thanksgiving Story." He used many funny expressions which made all the children laugh!

Finally it was time to eat! Many guests lined the tables for the magnificent feast that mother and Sierra had prepared for days.

Then it was time for the big wiffel ball game! There were sack races, egg races, and the acorn contest which was oh so much fun! Then finally whimpers from little mice and other little forest creatures said that all of them should be getting home, and that the mouse couple should be getting their mice to bed also. And so it was a very happy Thanksgiving indeed!
