Who I Am
Hey y'all! Welcome to The Window and Pen!
My name is Maddie Grace.
I'm so happy you've joined me here in my Jesus loving, coffee-drinking, writing, music-making, farming, teaching, crazy corner of the internet! Yes, I'm still part of the dinosaur age of social blog reading and writing. I hope you, at the very least, find my style quaint. :)
I'm a Christian living in the mid-GA area which is an agricultural community and home to several small towns. It's the "church on every corner" world.
Yes, I was homeschooled, and am so happy to have had the privilege of learning from my parents' skills and seeing their first-hand desire to play a part in my education. I did spend the last two years of high school in college and now hold a 4-year degree and teach 1st grade reading in the public school system. Weird right? It's alright, I did not see the trajectory of my life playing out like this either, so we're even. :)
Now that you have my resume, it's time for you to see what goes on inside my head. I have a passion for the younger generation coming to know Christ and changing the percentage of young people leaving the American church. That's why my desire right now as a teacher of even 6 and 7-year-olds is to show them love so that they might one day look back and see Jesus in the way I treated them. It will matter one day, in the moment that it makes all the difference.
But I love talking one on one with young adults as well. Small groups or person on person. That's why I love coffee dates with friends and the small group set up of Wednesday night adult studies when we share our hearts, mistakes, and lessons learned in life. My hope is to be a witness to other young women in my community, Christian or not, and form a community of women unafraid of breaking out of cultural norms and through barriers! We are called to more than Instagram.
As I share stories, please be assured that I don't seek to put my life on a pedestal! It's a life full of mistakes. So if you see a blog post from years gone by in my archives, and it has spiritual opinion not based in scripture, please bring it to my attention.
