12 Minutes of Truth

(Bear with me as I deal with blogger and fixing the post font issues. :) )

I cannot wrap my mind around the level of sadness I just experienced watching this video. Listening to this woman talk and struggle with her decision is eye opening to the deceptions so many have been led to believe regarding life and its viability. Her child was perfect, but because she has apprehensions and fear regarding raising 3 children instead of the "perfect" 2, she struggles with her decision up until the very last moment.

It is so much deeper than fighting the status quo. When watching personal stories like these, you are drawn into the battle itself and what really goes on behind closed doors and in the minds of the women themselves as many wrestle with their apprehensions.

Women are forced to make decisions, or they have already made one. It is a mindset and what we are trained to believe will define our choices. Patient X's mindset and reasoning, you listen to in this video, is one example of millions.

What pro-life believers need to consider here is that while it is very important to promote legislation that bans abortion, we have to consider that there is also a mindset and belief system that is much more powerful and playing out behind the scenes. Millions of women like "Patient X" have been led to believe lies concerning the quality of life at any stage and that there are only specific (medical) circumstances in which a "fetus" is alive.

All of these women lack one important thing: Jesus.

Brothers and Sisters, it is not enough to fight the movement, the politics, the organizations....using the words of my Grandfather in this situation, "They are trying to fight a Biblical battle with politics and it is not working".
We need to start fighting the pro-life battle with Jesus at the forefront, at the front lines, and at the front of OUR minds and hearts as we encounter these situations and fight on these battlegrounds.

But I beg you, fight with mercy and grace. These women at the root of the problem and the fight need truth spoken in love. These women that scream "my body, my choice" are crying even harder on the inside after they make that choice and there is no going back.

They need truth, they need assurance, and they need Jesus. Our fight for the lives of the unborn children of these women is futile if we are not first witnessing to the heart.

Life is viable from its first biological beginnings to its final breath. That is not a scientific theory. It is the way God instituted it.
