Playing Catch Up/ and Washington D.C. Adventures
Dear Readers,
Much has gone on in the months that I have not written to you. Relationships:), trips, school...life has been an adventure! And a great one at that!
I want to pack as much as I can into this post and it is hard to know right where to begin. I guess I will begin with June and July.
Okay, over the summer we were kept busy and happy with taking care of my Grandfather who lived in a camper at a nearby campground. Which also had a pool. And when you have seven kids, all in one family, a pool is a lifesaver!
August was a special month.:) Frequently over the summer, a great guy came over to run with my dad and to talk in the evenings. He had no intentions of courtship in the beginning of his visits which is why it's so funny! August 17...he asked if McKenzie would come and meet him out on the front porch. He asked her if she would allow him to court her and she said yes! After that, they went for a walk in the rain.It has been a wonderful learning experience for not only her, but all of us, And we are all incredibly happy for her!
In August, school also started. Or should I say, high school started. It has been, yes. Yet another learning experience! With reading, extra writing and studying to do, fitting in a blog post has been extra difficult!
Now here comes the fun part!

My Trip to Washington D.C.
This part of my post will probably be the most interesting to some of you. I know it is for me! I relish history, and D.C. was packed with it! Memorials, Archives, Museums, Capitol dome...hope you enjoy the photos!
This picture doesn't do it justice! It was massive! I can't imagine how big it was before it started sinking!

What I call the Pedestrian Goose! He walked WITH the humans like he didn't have a care in the world! I think he thought he was human. :D

On the Jefferson Memorial Porch....~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, I got up to September. I play more catch up later!
Hope you enjoyed a sneak a peek into my year!
btw
HAPPY FALL!!!

ReplyDeleteI think the memorial with the fountains is the World War II Memorial.
