She Was More Than Just A Grandma......
Dear Readers,
Early yesterday one of the saddest things happened. My grandma died.
Grandma had alot of health issues, and they caused her alot of pain. My sister Mckenzie said at one point that she didn't know why God didn't just take Grandma home to be with Him. I felt the same way. But God decided to wait until yesterday,
In the last days of her life she couldn't walk, breathe, or talk normally. But now Grandma can run as much as she wants to, she can take deep breaths of fresh air, and she can sing to her heart's content! I have been saying to myself over and over again, "Grandma is being held in the arms of Jesus. No more suffering, no more pain."
This makes me think of several different parts in Psalms 23. "Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil for thou art with me."
Psalms 116:23 also says "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints."
Grandma was a very optimistic person despite her troubles. Countless times she would be sitting in her wheel chair and she would have us laughing at some funny joke she read or made up. But most of the time when we would go to visit her she would be in the back room sewing something for one of the grandkids or working on a new quilt idea. Actually, my pink and blue quilt she made me is my most treasured memory of her.
Proverbs 31:8
"Open your mouth for the speechless,
In the cause of all who are appointed to die."
My Grandma worked in a pregnancy center when she was younger. This verse was appropriate for her because she saved countless lives through her work in abortion. She treasured her job in that office, and She made many friends there. It didn't matter what the situation, how old the person was, or who it was. Grandma touched every life that walked through that front door.
I have many memories of spending the night at my Grandma's house. We would either peel clementines on the back porch or enjoy a grape spritzer (drink) in the front yard. She would sing two of my favorite songs in her bed every time I would go to spend the night.
I am glad I took the time to spend time with my Grandma. You never know when time is up. Unfortunately it was up at a very young age for Grandma, but God decided it was time to take her home to be with Him.

Madeline, that's so sweet. Grandma is at peace. No more night, no more pain, no more tears, never crying again!
